    BAM: After Salesforce bought Slack in a monster $27B mega-deal only in December of past year, today news have that Microsoft reportedly wants to buy Discord for more than $10B. The market for cooperation and chat solutions is in heavy motion. The Discord solution will compete with Microsoft’s home grown Teams to some extent.

  • Tinuiti snaps up Amazon specialists Ortega

    Dive Brief: Tinuiti, a performance marketing agency, acquired Amazon specialist shop Ortega Group, according to a news release . Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Founded in 2013, Ortega is staffed with former Amazon employees — the two companies share a hometown of Seattle — and works with clients including Gerber, Grande Cosmetics, Nulo Pet Food and Pantone.

  • Apple to invest over 1 billion euros in Germany with new Munich campus

    Apple is going to strengthen their chip design R&D with a major investment in their campus in Munich, Germany. The announcement is huge news for the chip design but also software engineering space, and technology sector in general, but in particular for Munich and Bavaria as a high-tech location.

    The new state-of-the-art facility in Munich will be home to Apple’s growing cellular unit, and Europe’s largest R&D site for mobile wireless semiconductors and software.

    Building on its deep roots in the region, Apple’s new center in Munich will focus on 5G and future wireless technologies.
