  • AWS expandiert nach Südamerika

    Bereits am Donnerstag hat Amazon im Amazon Web Services Blog angekündigt, dass eine neue Region Südamerika für alle Kunden verfügbar ist: Now Open – South America (Sao Paulo) Region

    Die Region befindet sich in Sao Paolo, Brasilien, und erlaubt AWS Kunden EC2, S3, RDS, SQS, SNS, Elastic MapReduce, CloudFormation sowie CloudWatch zu verwenden. Ausserdem ist die Region gleicvhzeitig Edge-Region für Route 53 und ClurdFront.

  • ElastiCache – Memcached

    Amazon bietet jetzt auch Memcached als Service an. Das Produkt heisst Elasticache und ist über die AWS Console vefügbar. (more…)

    AWS announced heute eine eine neue Edge Location in Stockholm, Schweden. Damit bietet AWS global 19 Präsenzen für CloudFront und Route53 an.

  • Amazon AWS: Tokyo

    Amazon hat heute eine neue Region in Tokio angekündigt. Der Wortlaut aus dem Announcement ist folgender:

    Starting today, Japan-based businesses and global companies with  customers
in Japan can run their applications and workloads in the new  Tokyo Region
to reduce latency to end-users, keep their data entirely in  Japan, and
avoid the undifferentiated heavy lifting associated with  maintaining and
operating their own infrastructure. In most cases, end  users in Japan can
now experience single digit millisecond latency from  AWS's new Tokyo
Region. Tokyo joins Singapore as our second Asia Pacific  location and as
our fifth infrastructure location worldwide.

    Nach Singapur ist Tokio damit die 2 Region in Asien und die 5. Region, die Amazon weltweit anbietet. Rund um das Angebot plant Amazon japanisch sprechende Support, sowie den Service in Yen abzurechnen.

  • Amazon kündigt Elastic Beanstalk an

    Mit Elastic Beanstalk hat Amazon AWS heute einen eine Erweiterung seines Angebots vorgestellt. Damit steigt AWS auch in die “Platform as a Service” (PaaS) Welt ein.

    Amazon Web Services bisherige Angebote stellen lediglich Infrastruktur on Demand zur Verfügung und verlangen dem Kunden selbst den Betrieb der eigentlichen Softwareplatform bzw. des Application-Stacks ab.

    Nach Java und DotNET veröffentlicht Amazon ein AWS SDK für PHP:

    Das SDK erlaubt den Zugriff auf CloudFront, CloudWatch, EC2, IAM, S3, SDB, SNS sowie SQS.
