Never forget the victims of Nakatomi Plaza, on this day 35 years ago.

Category: Internet & Cloud. This brand new thing: Internet & Cloud. Even though the technology is around for way more than 30 years, it is a never drying source of news and discoveries. The new channel of communication created a entirely new culture and created new businesses, fueling innovation and creativity.
All those things that clearly relate to something ‘new media’, items and thoughts that would not have been possible without the internet, will go here.
Never forget the victims of Nakatomi Plaza, on this day 35 years ago.
Excel is still the single most corporate productivity tool. And its still the most misuesd tool that keeps corporate going. @redfrog@mamot.fr summarised this abuse in a quick comic that in particular nerds can relate to.

Wenn man sich mal an Kalligraphie versuchen möchte hat @welshpixie eine schöne Übung.

It may be I’m not blogging enough. There is an article on this blog where I was skeptical over the cloud and why companies would want to move there. Meanwhile, all the benefits have been proven by vendors, up to the point where the convenience became too expensive.
At that point, KPMG started offering “Cloud Exit Strategies“. Probably others. Consultancies will consult on everything they can sell to their clients, so this is a good indication for a market to start.
Now the latest to add to this trend is 37signals, that is leaving the cloud. Successful.
“Website URL published on packaging has been compromised and contains explicit content unsuitable for children.”
I am old enough to remember when the Internet and the web even more were the future. Now it’s a dystopian source of evil, leading to retailers recalling kids biscuits.

Did you wait for a conspiracy theory over the lost submarine? Here it is!
Sombody needs that right into their face. Sometime repeatedly.
threat actor = someone who wants to punch you in the face
from the tweet
threat = the punch being thrown
vulnerability = your inability to defend against the punch
risk = the likelihood of getting punched in the face
acceptable risk = your willingness to be punched in the face
risk management = your ability to see the punch coming
Also, Ricki Burke made the original Authors Casey Ellis tweet into T-Shirts:
Technology fusion idea for the inclined nerd that already has everything and still craves innovation.
